The Wisconsin Council on Long Term Care was created by Kevin Hayden, Secretary of the Department of Health and Family Services in March 2008. Secretary Karen Timberlake continues to appoint members and to interact with the Council. The Council's mission is to advise the Department on the statewide implementation of Family Care for elderly people and adults with disabilities. The Council replaces the Council on Long Term Care Reform, which operated from 2003 through 2007. Prior to that, the Council on Long Term Care advised the Department from 2000 to 2003.

On this site you will find information about the charge to the Council and its members, affiliated committees and task forces, agendas and minutes of meetings, and the goals and guiding principles of long term care reform. When they are issued, you will also be able to access reports and recommendations of the Council.

In addition, you can find archived information about the former Council on Long Term Care Reform and its predecessor Council on Long Term Care, and links to several sites that provide more information about information and services for elderly people and people with disabilities in Wisconsin.
